Anthony August 14 2023

When Anthony moved to Portland in the middle of 2014, shortly after completing trade school, to help take care of his grandmother when her health suddenly took a turn. Since then, he’s spent time figuring out where he wants to position himself in life. A true jack-of-all-trades, he tried working at a Lebanese deli on the PSU campus. After a few years, he was ready for a change and eventually found his way into interior design at Kush Rugs, where he immediately felt at home. He enjoys playing video games, having BBQs, spending quality time with his family, and watching his friends perform at local shows.

PDX Day: Starts by waking up at 5 a.m. with mist on the grass and birds chirping and hunting for worms. He grabs his fishing gear and hits the road. He drinks a few cups of coffee while driving, watching the sun rise, then heads out onto the water to fish. He likes to squeeze in a hike or two to other locations, followed by a classic catch-and-cook meal. Music playing and good ol’ conversations with friends complete the day, which ends by returning home to a clean house.

Dream Trip: Beginning in Africa, drawn to the wilderness, he imagines visiting Kenya and being among Lions, Elephants, and Rhinos. He would then go hot air ballooning 10,000 feet above the Serengeti for an unforgettable view. From there, he’d head to Australia to fish and possibly try scuba diving to end his dream trip.

Cats or dogs? When it comes to choosing between cats and dogs, Anthony has had both and loves them each in their own way. But if he had to pick, he’d choose a dog—loyal to the bone and always therapeutic.
